Toxic Chemicals and How to find them
We all know that there are toxic chemicals in our homes, but do you know what they are? Or where they are?
There is a lot of propaganda out there telling you that if you cannot pronounce it then you should not use or eat it. This, however, is not the true case. For most things, we as consumers cannot pronounce the names of these products for one reason! That reason is because they are using the scientific name for the product which can be in Latin, you know that dead language that is not truly dead but nobody speaks. If you truly want to know what is in your products you are going to have to google the names to find out.
An example would be Cilantro whose scientific name is Coriandrum sativum. Like I said before, this is not always the case. Take Beef Tallow for instance, it does not have a scientific name because it is rendered fat and not a distinct species or compound. Honey is the same, it is a product made by bees. Bees have a scientific name but not Honey as it is a by-product of keeping bees, which are usually kept for pollination purposes.
I try not to have toxic chemicals in my home as we are learning now after years of use certain chemicals are disrupting our bodies. And one of the most important swaps I have made to get away from not only toxic chemicals but that don’t need excess chemicals, is to change out my skincare for all natural products that use beef tallow, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, and essential oils. Products made by using natural ingredients, the way of our ancestors.
